AM I DEPRESSED?
Everyone gets sad or loses interest in things from time to time. With clinical depression, these feelings can last for weeks, months and even years. It is a condition that can be treated with therapy. The key is seeking help.
Many times people with depression don't get treated because they don't ask for help and believe it will go away on its own. Some feel ashamed. Others worry that family, friends, and coworkers would treat them differently if they knew.
WHAT SHOULD I DO?
If you think that you or someone you know might be experiencing depression, learn as much as you can about the condition. Understanding what depression is - and isn't - is the first step to finding relief. Perhaps it is a relationship that is causing you suffering or is it the way you talk to yourself? You deserve to be happy and peaceful and fulfilled. I believe it is important to work emphasizing strengths as well as taking a look at issues that need to be changed. You may experience a sense of relief after just one session.
